Grandma Was Right - Apple Cider Vinegar Clears Acne

Grandma Was Right - Apple Cider Vinegar Clears Acne
By Tracy Taylor

When you think of apple cider vinegar, you do not usually think of acne! However, many acne sufferers have found that apple cider vinegar is actually a really good natural, home treatment for their problem and there are a number of reasons for this.

Why Apple Cider Vinegar is good for Acne

Apple cider vinegar is known to improve the function of your liver, kidneys and bladder and that in turn helps to keep the body detoxified. When you think that acne is a problem which is often caused by the toxins within the body and the pores becoming blocked, it is not hard to see why apple cider vinegar might be able to help.

Apple cider vinegar is also packed full of vitamins which help to keep the body healthy and this is another reason why it is so good for you. So just how do you take apple cider vinegar?

How to Take Apple Cider Vinegar

There are a number of ways in which you can take apple cider vinegar and the main one is to drink it. Now it can be fairly nasty if you drink it on its own so many people prefer to mix it with a drink. Mixing it with honey and green tea which is also excellent for acne problems, you should start by drinking it once per day.

Some people swear by drinking three lots of apple cider vinegar every day and applying it directly to the acne once per day. This is obviously a lot of hassle but the people who have tried it have said how well it actually works. The apple cider vinegar which is applied directly to the problem is said to dry up the pimples and they start to disappear over a short period of time. However, drinking the apple cider vinegar alone is the best option as it works perfectly fine in its own time without you needing to apply it directly onto the skin.

The trouble also with applying apple cider vinegar directly to the face, is that it could easily dry it out and leave you with dry skin as well as acne. So always stick to drinking the vinegar and you should really start to notice changes in your skin within three weeks.

Organic Versus Ordinary Apple Cider Vinegar

When it comes to purchasing apple cider vinegar, it would be a good idea to purchase organic over ordinary. This is because whilst it may be more expensive, organic apple cider vinegar is a lot better for the skin as it contains only natural ingredients. Ordinary apple cider vinegar on the other hand, contains quite a lot of chemicals which can harm the skin.

Obviously you do not want to risk harming the skin, as that could in turn inflame your acne problem. So sticking to organic would be simpler all around.

Overall apple cider vinegar is an excellent natural treatment for acne, though not many people have heard of it. Simply add a tablespoon of the vinegar into your morning and evening routine and you should start to notice results within three weeks.
Using apple cider vinegar is just one of many ways you can get rid of acne. To get more tips on what really works go to my get rid of acne blog where you'll get all kinds of free advice for getting rid acne.

Best Acne Treatments

Need A Fast And Effective Acne Treatment?

It's a well known fact that you have to be extremely cautious before using any sort of so-called 'cure' especially when it comes to facial ailments and we've created this special section of the site to advise on how clear up your acne naturally without having to buy or risk using expensive skin medication.

We researched 25 of the most popular 'acne relief' products although the majority turned out to be a complete waste of time and money. According to the people we spoke to, some of the alternative methods found in two online books in particular were far more effective than the usual prescription medication that your doctors will prescribe.

The 2 sites we've listed below were the best ones we found. They're all original and more importantly were produced by leading experts in the acne field.

Acne Free In 3 Days...

---------------------------------------

Acne Free In 3 Days has taken the web by storm recently and over 25,000 copies of this eBook have been sold in the past six months.

The question is - does it work? Well, the author Chris Gibson seemed to think so and at the start of the ebook he recalls his earlier life experiences with acne and how he has been battling it since school days.

He then goes on to reveal how he discovered a way to clear it in just a few days and he shows you precisely how you can too.

We obviously can't disclose the methods he uses but they are natural and seemed to be great alternatives to common medicine.

We spoke to 9 people who had tried his remedies. Six from the US and three from the UK and they all had great success with his program although it took more like 7 to 10 days, rather than three for their acne to begin to clear.

We do believe that this ebook will drastically help your acne by cleansing the areas which are responsible for causing it and if you are fed up with enduring countless doctor and therapist visits you should certainly check this out.

Acne No More...

---------------------------------------

Acne No More is an extensive read which contains over 200 pages of great content and like Chris Gibson's book it focuses solely on clearing your acne using alternative or holistic methods rather than prescription drugs.

The author, Mike Walden is a certified nutritionist and health consultant and many describe Mike's Acne No More publication as being the "Acne Bible."

It is quite simply one of the most comprehensive, complete, and precise guides to acne freedom you will ever read and the only reason why we've scored it marginally lower than 'Acne Free' is because we thought Chris's book was better laid out and easier to follow.

Acne No More not only thoroughly discusses the lies, myths and fallacies surrounding a very confusing subject, it is simply the most detailed book about acne, blackheads, and hormonal health and inner balance ever written.

So we confidently feel that this program will be successful for almost all types of acne.

More Acne Myths

More Acne Myths

Author: Dave Owen

When I was a teenager, I was known as the Acne King -- and not without reason! With a visage that had scores of both black heads and white heads, I was a walking, talking advertisement for acne medication. If the scorn of my peers (especially the girls) was one thing, the impossibility of removing the ugly acne I had was another thing altogether.

The general myths about acne didn’t help. My family members firmly believed that acne was a result of poor (or more specifically, junk) diet. While it was true that I enjoyed the frequent dose of junk food that the neighborhood fast food joints dished out, I wasn’t too sure that eating out was the cause of my acne. I mean, a number of my friends ate out with me, and what’s more, ate junk food even more frequently than I did. But they hardly had any acne. Something had to be wrong with the popular belief right?

Another associated myth was that chocolate causes acne. And since I love chocolate in any form or shape, I would have found giving it up, an impossibility. But having read up and followed news and medical reports on the subject, I discovered to my relief that chocolate consumption has nothing whatsoever to do with acne.

My peers were not much help either. Most of my friends, hinted that my acne advertisement face was a result of frequent masturbation. For a while, I believed this. Hey! What hot-blooded, teenage male doesn’t indulge in masturbation at that point in life? But then again, observation told me that this too was a myth. If acne was linked to masturbation, was I to conclude that my male friends who had no acne at all did not masturbate? I could have more easily believed that they were aliens! So, there went another acne myth.

Another myth that I did believe, and which sounded genuine and even scientific at that time, related to the assumption that acne is a result of dirt and dead skin accumulation on the face. I never stopped to consider that if that was the case, why wasn’t the skin on my arms and legs, which were more in contact with dirt and grime than any other part of my body, riddled with acne? In any case, I spent several days, weeks and months assiduously washing my face with all kinds of soaps and anti acne creams in a bid to eradicate acne, all to no effect. Finally, I just resorted to a fatalistic attitude and concluded that the more I stressed myself out thinking about acne, the more it would continue to be a problem. So at that point that I gave up worrying about it. And guess what? A couple of years later, as I slowly grew out of adolescence, the acne disappeared on its own! Although there are still a few tell tale scars of my acne king days, my face is now clear.

Acne Myths: True or False?

Acne Myths: True or False?

Author: IC

It is perfectly normal for teenagers to have a few pimples, blackheads and whiteheads due to their hormonal changes that take place somewhere between the age of 12 and 17. In order to treat Acne properly we must first see what is true and what is false in all those myths people have about Acne.

Myth no.1: Getting a tan helps Acne disappear.

Even though getting a tan temporarily masks Acne signs it definitely does not help Acne disappear for good. On the contrary, the face skin will only dry up and peel off in the affected areas by Acne and sunburns can occur. Also, the risk of cancer is increased through excessive tanning.

If you have Acne and follow and anti-Acne treatment you should avoid tanning as the drugs or creams you use generally create a hyper sensibility of the epidermal layers and you could get sunburns all over your skin. During the summer it is best to cover the Acne affected areas of your body with oil-free cream that also has high UV filters and do not forget to use a summer hat and sunglasses.

Myth no.2: The more you wash your face the less Acne manifests

Well, it is good to wash your face in order to remove make-up, dust and other impurities that gather on the skin during the day but you should not do it more than twice a day. Also, when washing your face dermatologists recommend that you use non-alcoholic, soap-free cleansers with gently movements for avoiding skin irritation. Also, avoid scrubbing as it will only harm the skin that already suffers from Acne.

Myth no.3: Squeezing the pimples will make Acne disappear

Even though after the squeezing procedure the pimple will temporarily look less visible the truth is germs will get into the skin from your hands or from inside the pimple and in a day or two the inflammation will be back and more pimples will appear in that skin zone. Plus, you can get scars that will disappear only in a few months or even last forever. If a zit appears in the day you have a date it’s best to cover it up with special products of make-up made for Acne skin.

Myth no.4: If you have Acne you must not use make-up products

This used to have been true 30 years ago. Nowadays the cosmetic companies have special make-up products for Acne skin that are oil-free and to not clog up the pores. Some of them even contain substances that heal pimples, so fell free to use make-up products but do not forget to wash your skin before going to bed in order to remove any tracks of make up from your skin.

Myth no.5: Men that suffer of Acne should not shave

This is partially true. If the pimple is red, painful and seems to have pus men should avoid that zone during shaving for a day or two in order to prevent the infection from spreading to other skin areas too. Otherwise, a sharp blade and a quality shaving gel can be used by a man that has Acne.
